Welcome to the Neighborhood!

Breweries & bike shops in repurposed warehouses. Art galleries & coffeehouses in old industrial buildings. That's the vibe in one of the fastest-changing neighborhoods in Portland, Maine.

Over a century ago, new Mainers from Ireland, Italy, and Scandinavia found their way to East Bayside. Since then, the area has become home to new residents from Cambodia, Vietnam, and, most recently, Sudan, Somalia, and Iraq, making for a vibrant mix of residential homes and commercial properties. Recreational fields, parks and walking/biking trails crisscross the neighborhood

Right now, the secret we can share is that there is plenty of free parking and room to move around in this gritty, fun neighborhood. We hope you'll enjoy exploring the many stores and art galleries, furniture makers and food trucks, and enjoy the breweries, wineries and spirit makers–all within a few blocks of each other.
